Description

Vandalism, 1976. These three black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a damaged dock on a lake and a damaged picnic table on a deck near the lake. These images were captured at Long Lake. Image 36 shows a dock with two of the planks broken off of the side support. The dock extends from the lower-right corner toward the top left corner of the image frame. Image 37 is nearly identical to image 36. Image 38 shows the same dock with broken planks, but here the photographer appears to be standing on the dock. Image 39 shows a wooden picnic table with the center plank of the table portion broken in. A second picnic table which does not appear to be damaged is visible in the right-hand background of the image. Image 40 is nearly identical to image 39. Image 41 shows the same broken table from a different angle. An L-shaped dock is visible in the background. Image 42 shoes two men examining the broken table. The remaining film negative strip does not bear any physical numbers, but the images will be numbered 1-5 from left to right. Image 1 shows the trunks of two saplings which have been broken off alongside a road. The photographer is approximately ten feet from the camera. Image 2 shows a much closer-up view of one of the broken saplings. Images 3 and 4 are nearly identical to image 2. Image 5 is too faded to make anything out.
