An electric pressing iron. There is a heavy plate attached to a longer and taller metal piece, which indents towards the point. Attached to this is a black plastic handle, the front of which reads “PROCTOR | PROCTOR”. Attached to the side of the handle and is an electrical cord, wrapped in a black and white zig zag weave. There is a plastic protrusion for the cord at the back of the handle. In the cutout for the handle, on the bottom, is a rotating knob for heat controls. The bottom of the iron (not on the basest plate) reads “A.C. ONLY / 1100 WATTS / 115 VOLTS / MODEL 983A”, “PATENTS / 2039222 / 2053405 / ALSO SEE CARTON”, and “PROCTOR CHAMPION / SPEED IRON / PROCTOR ELECTRIC COMPANY / PHILADELPHIA 40, PENNA., U.S.A.”
