Description
North Thurston High School Basketball, Unknown Dates. These twelve black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using three separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show a men's basketball game between the teams from North Thurston and Chehalis High Schools. It appears that this game was played in the North Thurston gymnasium. Images 28a through 44a and 1a show the game underway. Images 1a and 2a show a performance by the North Thurston cheerleaders, or perhaps the dance team. Image 3a shows the North Thurston pep band playing while in the stands.
The images in group "b" show a men's basketball game between the teams from North Thurston and Hoquiam high schools. It appears that this game was played in the North Thurston gymnasium. All of these images (44b and 1b through 18b) show the game underway.
The images in group "c" show a men's basketball game between the teams from North Thurston and Timberline high schools. This game appears to have been played in the North Thurston gymnasium. All of these images (39c through 44c and 1c through 13c) show the game underway.
