A square with a longer metal piece inset into a shorter wood piece. The pieces meet at a 90 degree angle. The wood is much thicker than the metal, which is inset to provide a 45 degree angle (mitre). In the wood is faintly stamped “PATENTED APRIL 16 1923”, and below this is stamped “PATENTED JUNE 29 69”. The metal is rusted. The inner walls of the wood are covered with a thick sheet of brass.Dimensions
