Item 99-12 is a piece of cast iron canister or case (cluster) shot. The ball measures ⅞in (2.2cm) in diameter and weighs 1.4 oz (39g). The size and weight of the ball suggests that it came from a small caliber weapon, quite possibly a swivel gun. It is impossible to determine if this projectile is of American or British origin.
