Larrabee sent this image to his close friend Robert J. LaBombard in October 1942. Robert, also in the service, was killed in the line of duty on April 19, 1945 while serving as a member of the 10th Mountain Division, 87th Mountain Regiment, Company B in Italy. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star posthumously.
