Description

(A) Mantel Clock in cast pot metal, printed black w/two (2) doors. One shows the (B) brass pendulum and the striking coil; the second shows the paper clock dial w/Roman numerals and the winding key holes; glass face is missing. On rim of lower door, clock is signed "N. Muller, N.Y., No. 62, Patent 1857." Casting is a bucolic scene of a boy in straw hat and a girl in a dress playing amid cattails, shells, and arrowhead water plants. Few of these metal clocks remain as most were melted down for Civil war bullets.
