Description and Notes: Information provided by Milford Jones, a descendant of the original owner and builder, Edwin M. Jones from Connecticut. The Jones Homestead was located on the site of the present day Green Ridge Golf Course, 29150 Ridge Road, Wickliffe, Ohio. The house was moved to its present location, 29235 Ridge Road, Wicklifffe, Ohio in 1932, that owner is identified as John Stewart. Has more history of home, floor plan and pictures.
This four bay,one and half story National Fold Front Gable style house has a cross gabled roof. The side gabled roof has two tall windows on the first floor and two six over six windows on the second story.
The side gable portion of the house is recessed back slightly. There is a small porch with a pent roof which is over a single window and the entry way to the house. The second story of this portion has two squat six over six windows which are paired together. This portion of the house also has an external chimney.
The house was originaly configured in the same cross roof design, but it had five bays with an additional entryway into the house in the front gabled portion of the house. The side gable of the house as only a single story. The house has been modified at some point before 1953, but the records were lost in a fire at Wickliffe City Hall. There is records of the second story addition in 1973.
