Description and Notes: The house was once known as the Paige House or Paige Hotel. The hotel had a pump and water trough in front. David Paige, who originally owned the house was an associate judge for the Lake County Common Pleas Court.
The two and a half story house has a main portion and a single story wing. The main portion of the house has three bays divided by Doric pilasters which support a pediment and contains a fan light. The front entrance is off center with a door surround. The first story windows are 6/6. The side of the house has seven bays and also contains an entrance to the house.
THe single story wing has an eave that extends over the main wall to form a porch supported by slightly tapered Doric columns.
An addition was also added to the house to extend the facade, this was done at an unknown date, but before ca. 1900. The addition was four bays with an entrance. Some time before 1900 the facade was modified to incorporate brackets into the roof line and gentle arches into the facade between the pilasters. The windows were also hooded during this time. It appears that this renovation attempted to give the Greek Revival style house a slight Italianate touch.
