Documentation on reverse of photo by Caroline Hills Tolle, daughter of Henry A. Hills and Mary B. Corning Hills. Reads as follows: "At Mentor, Ohio, 20 miles east from Cleveland on Lake Erie, is you "ancestral Buckeye" home where all the Cornings were born and reared, including my mother. This is her father's home and is on the farm sold to Mr. James A. Garfield, a neighbor, who became President of the United States. When Grandfather Corning sold him this farm, Mr. Garfield was a school teacher and President of Hiram College where all his family and ours, went to school. His daughter Mary and my mother Mary were the same age and always played and went to school together. They were called the two "mollies" at school. This lovely old home, going on 200 years old now, still stands right next to the beautiful Garfield estate, once Grandfather's old farm where I visited when I was 19 years old - Aunt Phebe gave this to me when I was home. Don't lose it."
