Great Grandfather Aohbel (sp ?) Munson came to the Western Reserve from Connecticut in 1821. He drove ox teams and settled in Mentor near Heisley Road and Jackson Streets. One day he stuck his Ox whip in the ground and it grew to this great tree. The tree was cut down by Horwith who now owns the land.
