Description

Red wool quilt. Made of wool taken from Sarah Sturges' sheep then cardel, spun and woven into cloth. Dye was homemade. See accession file, quilt album and catalog sheet in the Collection Management Department for family story of Sarah taking wool to weavers. (***Sarah (Dickenson) Sturges grandmother of donor Bertha S. Plummer. Sarah lived in Waynesburg (Greene County), PA.)
