Quilt created by the students and faculty of Huntington School, Painesville, Ohio. Each square was designed by various individuals, families, and teachers at the school.
Attached was a brief history and names as follows: The school quilt project was spearheaded by second grade teacher, Georgena White. It was to be used as a fundraiser for Huntington students. Miss White's friends in the Menonite Community near Sugar Creek, Ohio helped assemble the quilt. Some parents, students, and teachers helped in addition by designing some of the quilt suares. I remember asking my mother, Winifred Gibbs; who loved to embroider, to design my square. She came up with the flowers of the Pholox, a cute play on words for the Flock family! The quilt came into my hands via a Huntington School Chinese Auction many years after the original ticket sale of the quilt. Amy Evans Werbach was the first owner of the quilt. She donated it to Huntington for another person's chance to own a piece of history. I was the lucky person.
