Scope and Content

Other Name: Annual Reports Kirtlandale was an area encompassing two streets, Gardenside and Mountainview, that although they were surrounded by Waite Hill Village were part of Kirtland until about 1965 when they voted to become a part of Waite Hill. At what point they founded their own little garden club, I do not know; but it was before they became a part of Waite Hill. Along with the garden club, they formed a park that was a couple of acres about haflway down Gardenside ont he west side of the road. Every year they would have a resident's annual picnic in the park. At some point during that time, the members of the club divided the park into sub-squares to do a complete plant inventory. It was a completely naturual area full of wildflowers. Of course, that was years before the onslaught of deer; I image now there are few if any wildflowers left!
