Description

Large silver plated oval tray with presentation inscription on front that reads, "To William W. Smith by butchers, drovers etc. of Detroit for display of meats, Christmas 1859. Back is inscribed, "G. W. Cottrell, 1910". Inscription on front includes a full list of donors. Front of tray features a steer's head surrounded by butcher tools. Tray has four feet and two handles. Front design also includes engraving of vines and fruit. Tray also has a 2" scalloped edge with bead decorations.
