Black or very dark navy, long uniform coat has long sleeves, a mandarin collar lined in blackvelvet and closes with 9 brass buttons that have a ring of 13 stars around raised letters--- FDA. probably for a Fire Departmaent.
The fancy vented back has 4 brass buttons and the cuffs have 3 buttons each plus gold ribbon applications.
Dip in front typical of Civil War era.
