Black and white close-up photo of a section of the rotary filter process of Dow, at the stage pictured, the magnesium hydroxide is saturated with seawater, and as much of this as is possible must be removed in a filtering operation. The filters used are simply rotary driven which permit internal suction to be applied until a cake of magnesiom hydroxide about 1 1/2 inches is built up.Collection
