Black and white photo of a crane unloading shell from a barge. Shell is unloaded from the barges by cranes with clam-shell buckets and moved by conveyors to a rotary shell washer where mud, sand, and tiny marine life must be washed from the shell to prevent the formation of mud rings in the lime kilns. After the shell has been washed, it is them moved to storage, or to the lime kilns, by conveyors.Collection
