Provenance

Notes

Received from Mildred Brown, a Laurel resident. She was a neighbor of Doris Bowie (Lafayette Avenue). She moved to Laurel in the 1930s. The chairs were owned by Doris Bowie and are from the Petit House (also on Lafayette). The Petits were furniture store owners in Washington, D.C. The chairs may have come from their store. They were gilded at one time. Information provided by Betty Compton.
