Description

Small gold key-shaped pin that belonged to Miss Barbara Joan Duncan. Elements from the Law Society seal (with the beaver on the bottom of the pillar rather than the top) on the front. The design suggests that it may have been worn either as a pendant or as a lapel pin.

Use

This looks like the "Gold Key Award" illustrated in the Charta yearbook from 1957-1958. According to Charta: "A maximum of ten awards is made each year to members of the graduating class who are nominated by a committee of the Osgoode Hall Legal and Literary Society as having made an outstanding contribution to student activities at the Law School. These awards take the form of a gold key bearing the Law School crest.
