Scope and Content
St. Louis Post-Dispatch article of the solar eclipse, April 27, 1930. The image was made when LAG was with Parks Air College.
The description reads "The progressive series of views fo Monday's solar phenomenon were made on one photographic plate with exposures timed five minutes apart, unitl the moment of greatest coverage in this par of the country, 1.59 p.m.
The single view was made by Lawrence A. Gahn, staff photographer of Parks Air College, who was taken aloft in a Parks plane to an altitude of 12,000 feet. The photograph is interesting because it shows a much greater halation around the sun, caused by ice particles in the upper ari, than was visible to an observer on the ground."
