1959.05.21 LAG letter from Dacca to Betty & Gus in Corpus Christi TX

Letter from LAG in Dacca to Betty informing her that LAG and Gladys will be in Corpus in June of 1959.
The letter reads:
Dacca 21 May 1959
Dear Betty and family.
The morning of the twenty-third we will depart Dacca for Calcutta- a part of the day there and then we expect to take Boac (?) jet flight in the afternoon for Frankfort. (sp) We have reservations on that but it is tourist confirmed but first class asked. If we cannot get the request we may take KLM leaving about the same time-however that is alonger (sp) flight.
Expect to arrive in New York the afternoon of 5 June. We are booked at the Lexington Hotel. We will arrive sometime on the 7 June in Washington. We are booked at the Francis Scott Key Hotel- 20th and F St. I have five days consultation in Washinton-then we will have to do some visiting. Hope to get (to) Corpus about the end of June. Our plans are a bit on the indefinite side-a week or so there and then we plan to go (to) the west coast-the Monterey region for approximately a month.
So if you will be kind enough to see what we can get on the weekly basis-or two weeks it will be appreciated-something on (the) bay with a beach etc. No beaches here-miss Tripoli for that.
Also will you check the used car market in Corpus, comparative prices-price range-Gus can do a good job on that. We will call you when we arrive in Washington-or New York. We may want to pick up a car along the route ex (?) New York for the trip to the West Coast.
The rules specify that we have to spend 30 work days in the continental U.S. on home leave-however Honolulu if part of the US so we may cut the west coast stay and hie (?) off to H.
We cancelled out on the boat trip due to poor accommodations. Instead will fly. The new routing is SF to H- H to Tok. Tok. To Manila, thence to HK-to Bangkok-to Rangoon. We may fly to Dacca direct from Rangoon instead of via Calcutta.
We will have stopovers in these places-plus a requested five TDY in Manila. That has not come through as.
I have forty work days due me for home leave but I don’t know I will take all of it. This home leave is a chore in addition to being expensive. ‘Tis quite drain on the bank account. I will probably be back in Dacca around the middle of August.
