Katar dagger from South India, the unique "V" shaped handle mount, the engraving of the handle and the riveting of the blade, indicates Maratha or Tanjore origin. Stepped, chiseled blade with thick spine and elaborative point, presents it to be a deadly fighting weapon. Some leftover Silver Koftagari would have been a later addition, to show status upliftment of the owner.Made/Created
