This is a Bichhwa (literally "Scorpion Sting"), a highly specialized Indian dagger named for its doubled-curved blade that mimics the shape of a scorpion's stinger. This particular specimen is unique for its hilt made of Tagua Nut wood (also known as "Vegetable Ivory"), providing a refined, bone-like aesthetic with superior durability. Blade: The blade features a distinctive double-curve (S-shape) with a reinforced, armor-piercing tip. It is double-edged, allowing for lethal cutting and thrusting in multiple directions. The central section often features a high-relief rib or fullers to provide strength while keeping the blade lightweight and maneuverable. The Loop Hilt: The defining characteristic of the Bichhwa is its loop handle, designed to fit around the palm of the hand. This allows the user to keep the hand partially open to grab an opponent or a shield without dropping the weapon. Handle Material: The use of Tagua Nut is an excellent choice for a custom or high-end reconstruction.
