This artifact is a Custom Steel Side Plate, the third component in your personalized armor system. In the traditional Indo-Persian Char-aina ("Four Mirrors") configuration, two of these rectangular plates protect the lateral flanks of the torso. This specimen maintains the high-status Silver Koftagari finish and documents the continued use of your personal Nahang (Crocodile) motif, ensuring a 360-degree narrative record of the wearer's identity.
Core Components & Engineering
The Substrate (Forged Carbon Steel): A rectangular steel plate with a gentle horizontal curvature designed to wrap around the ribs.
Geometry: Unlike the breastplate and backplate, this plate is relatively flat with flanged (rolled) distal edges.
Mechanical Logic: The flanged edges act as structural stiffeners, preventing the plate from buckling under the compression of a strike. They also prevent the sharp edges of the steel from abrading the underlying chainmail or leather suspension.
The Ornamentation (Silver Koftagari): The surface is entirely decorated with silver inlay.
The Nahang Motif: The central rectangular panel depicts the Nahang in a compact, powerful posture. The fine-line silver work is hammered into the cross-hatched steel, documenting a permanent metallurgical bond.
Aesthetic Consistency: The panel is framed by dense boteh (leaf) patterns and cruciform borders that are identical to the front and back plates, ensuring total Administrative Symmetry across the set.
Mechanical Hardware (Suspension Rings): Features six heavy steel "D-rings" (three on each vertical edge) mounted on decorative flanged bases.
