This Firangi Blade is a highly ornate piece, forged as a fighting weapon. Double fullers running through the compete length of the blade and short chisled tip makes this cut and thrust weapon. Classic Indian Basket hilt with staright bottom spile and velveted grip. Deep Silver Koftagari work on Chape, collar and on basket hilt. This is a Modern Custom Firangi, a high-fidelity reconstruction of the "Foreigner's Sword" that became an iconic weapon of the Maratha and Rajput cavalries. While the term historically referred to swords using imported European blades, this modern specimen is a bespoke build designed to capture the exact mechanical and aesthetic balance of the 17th-century originals. Core Components & Engineering The Blade: Features a long, straight, single-edged profile characteristic of the Firangi style. It is forged with multiple parallel fullers (grooves) running the majority of the length. These fullers serve a critical "Process reliant" function: they remove non-structural mass to make the sword light enough for rapid cavalry use while maintaining the longitudinal stiffness required for powerful thrusts. The Basket Hilt (Khanda-style): The hilt is a comprehensive steel basket guard, providing total protection for the hand. The interior is lined with crimson velvet padding, a traditional feature that absorbs the shock of impact during heavy parries and prevents abrasions to the knuckles. The Pommel Spike: A prominent, curved steel spike extends from the pommel. This was a tactical evolution allowing the warrior to deliver "hammer-blow" strikes or use the hilt as a secondary weapon in extremely close-quarters grappling where the long blade was unusable. The Scabbard: Housed in a custom wooden core scabbard wrapped in premium black leather.
