The Knipex 87 01 250 Cobra® is a legendary tool in the mechanical world, widely regarded as the industry standard for water pump pliers. Unlike traditional slip-joint pliers, the Cobra® utilizes a unique locking design that ensures a "set it and forget it" grip on workpieces of any shape.
The Jaws: The gripping surfaces feature specially hardened teeth (approx. 61 HRC), which are offset against the direction of rotation. This creates a self-locking effect on pipes and nuts, meaning the tool will not slip once engaged and requires very little hand force to maintain the grip.
Adjustment Mechanism: It features a fine-tuned push-button adjustment with 25 locking positions. This allows for optimum adaptation to different workpiece sizes while maintaining an ergonomic handle position.
