I am presenting my Custom-Forged Udaipur Tanto, a masterpiece that records a peak in Metallurgical Art and Geological Synthesis. This artifact documents my direct engagement with the traditional forges of Udaipur, Rajasthan—a region where I have sourced many high-status assets. To me, this piece represents a radical fusion of Damascus Pattern-Welding and a Rock Crystal (Quartz) hilt, prioritizing Visual Dominance and Crystalline Integrity.
My Design & Engineering Observations
My Choice of Blade Architecture (The Damascus Tanto):
I am looking at a 151st administrative unit featuring a pattern-welded Damascus Steel blade.
My Technical Logic: By forge-welding multiple layers of high-carbon and low-carbon steel, the Udaipur smiths have created a blade with a high "Elasticity Certainty." The visible swirling patterns are a physical record of the Thermomechanical History of the forge.
Geometry: The blade follows the classic Hira-Zukuri (flat-sided) profile with a slightly upswept tip. This provides me with a state of high Slicing Yield while maintaining a reinforced distal mass for precise administrative piercing.
My Hilt & Material Synthesis (The Rock Crystal Grip):
This is the most distinctive feature of my collection: a hilt carved from a single, solid piece of Natural Rock Crystal.
My Mechanical Logic: Quartz has a high Mohs Hardness (7), providing extreme durability against surface abrasion. Its natural transparency allows for a view of the internal tang, recording the "Structural Truth" of the hilt assembly.
The Ferrule: I have a polished brass collar at the pivot, which acts as a Structural Buffer, preventing the steel of the blade from applying direct mechanical stress to the crystal hilt during manual handling.
