This artifact is a Custom Fixed-Blade Dagger, designed and forged by the user. It represents a masterclass in resourceful engineering, where repurposed high-carbon steel is combined with recycled soft materials to create a functional, tactical tool. The piece documents a high degree of "Process Adaptation," utilizing available industrial and consumer components to achieve professional-grade results. Core Components & Engineering The Blade (Hand-Forged Steel): A broad, symmetrical leaf-shaped blade with a full flat grind. Geometry: The wide "belly" of the blade provides a significant cutting surface, while the acute tip is optimized for piercing. Surface Condition: The steel exhibits a "Forge-Bright" finish with scattered honest oxidation and scale remnants. This documents the thermal "process" of the forge, where the surface chemistry of the metal has been altered by extreme heat. The Hilt (Leather-Wrapped Steel Tang): The handle consists of a full steel tang integrated directly with the blade. Wrap Logic: The tang is tightly finished with leather string wrapping. This organic "User Interface" provides a high-friction, compressed grip that absorbs moisture and prevents the tool from rotating in the palm during high-torque maneuvers.
