With this knife I started my collection.
My Choice of Steel (Industrial Upcycling): * This blade was born from a reclaimed Industrial Hacksaw Blade.
My Technical Logic: I recognized early on that hacksaw stock is typically High-Speed Steel (HSS). It’s engineered to maintain a cutting edge even under the high thermal loads of cutting through other metals. By repurposing this material, I ensured my foundational knife possessed a level of "Edge Certainty" and abrasion resistance that outclassed almost any standard utility tool I could find at the time.
My Workshop Evolution (The Symmetrical Reset):
When I first got this, it was sharpened on only one side for simple utility. I took it into the school workshop and personally ground the second edge to create a Symmetrical Spear Point.
My Engineering Intent: I wanted to shift the tool's primary function from a simple "pull-cut" slicer to a "thrust-centric" dagger. By centering the point with the longitudinal axis of the handle, I ensured that any force I apply travels in a perfectly straight line, maximizing my Piercing Yield.
My Hilt and Administrative Indexing:
I have seated the tang deep into this cylindrical, dark-toned handle. You’ll notice I’ve marked the grip with "99." While this was my "First," its placement in my indexing system records the sheer scale of the 35-year journey I have taken to reach this point in my curation.Made/Created
