Portrait of William Van Woert, Jr and wife, Myrtle Cain Van Woert, ca. 1908. Van Woert was the sone of William Sr. and Elnora Ferris Van Woert, homesteaders at Silver Creek; originally from New York, they settle in Butte County, Chico, CA in 1869. Came to Washington Territory in 1883/1884. William Jr was born in 1873 at Chico, CA and died August 13, 1938 in Chehalis, WA.
