Description
Drawing shows a Northern Pacific passenger train crossing in front of H. Hanson's Prune Orchard. Before the turn of the century prune growing was a highly successful industry in Lewis County. There were newspaper reports of over 200 acres of Italian and French prunes in the county. This scene was reportedly near Centralia. The industry finally collapsed because the drying facilities were not available for the tons of fruit produced. Have negative. Have slides.
