Description

Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad. The shops at Mineral, WA house examples of different logging locomotive types, both rod and gear driven. For the Railfan Event on January 21, 2006, three engines were fired up. In a scene similar to the "race" staged at Cass, West Virginia every year, Hammond Lumber 2-3-2ST No. 17 (Alco-Schenectady 1929), Hillcrest Lumber No. 10 (Climax 1928) and ex-Kinzua Pine Mills No. 102 as No. 91 (Heisler 1929) vie for attention.
