Copy of J. D. Siegwarth Train photos. September 1955. Wooden truss railroad bridge crossing the Newaukum River near Chehalis, WA. This and at least three other timber truss bridges on the Willapa Harbor branch of the Milwaukee were used up to the abandonment of the line. This bridge was used jointly by the Chehalis Western and Milwaukee. The timber truss bridge across the South Fork of the Chehalis was used only by the Chehalis Western. Timer trusses at Doty and near Raymond were used by the Milwaukee. There may have been additional ones in the Elk Creek Valley. Milwaukee was about the only Western road to use timber trusses.
