Description

Copy of J. D. Siegwarth Train photos. View looking out the door at the overgrown tracks. Right -of-way had not been maintained for about two years. Bushes and trees overgrown. The crew dubbed the railroad "the worlds longest tunnel". Bars were welded over the cab windows on the #15 to keep 1" diameter limbs from flailing the engine crew. Because of the grass and limbs on the track #15 had trouble pulling the train and #25 up the fill from Mill Creek to Onalaska. Upon a signal from Mr. Santee, the throttle was opened on #25 while #15 was fired up to the top of the hill. At that point, the fire was pulled. It was the last one in #25. Have negative.
