Description

Logging on E1/2 of SE1/4, Sec. 10 T. 12N., R. 7W, in 1892, Willapa for the Simpson Lumber Co. Mill near South Bend. Logging operation of Barney Soule. Ox teamster was paid $125 a month, Fallers and buckers $60 a month, and a skid greaser, the lowest job, $20 a month. All rates were in addition to board at camp. Other views P8583, P8584 and P8585. This shows oxen team near mill pond.
