Slightly blurred photo of students in front of the Ceres Hill School house which was built in 1922. Some of the building shows. Student ID., back row May (McCoy) Sexton, Hazel (Brown) Jones, front row: twins Dorothy ( Brown) Swenson, Doris (Brown) Stockwell. This photo was taken in 1925. School built in 1922. It was moved to the Rutherford property and now belongs to the McCoys. It is about 1/2 mile away from it original site. The first school was held in Nelson's home in 1917. In 1922 it was then in the Ceres Hill School building. This district consolidated with Boistfort in 1932-33 and ran at least another 10 years. Teachers, Miss Jane Robinson, Later Mrs. Rutherfort, taught the frist five years, Miss Stanek of Pe Ell taught one year, Miss Rita Kiler (Keir) taught one year, Miss Ruby Eaton taught two years, Miss Serena Armentrout one or two years, Ethel Basher taught 1930-31 term, Georgie Detering Toporke taught 1931-32 and 1932-33. Last was Miss Maki. Have negative.
