Kinsey photo of Weyerhauser Timber Company Camp #2. Shows machinery and crew with a few logs in front. Shows a Lidgerwood Tower Skidder. This one or one like it was used at McDonald Weyerhaeuser and is on display at camp 6 in Tacoma. A tower on the front was raised and served as the near spar tree. The skidder was moved about on four railroad trucks. As Shown, it is cribbed up so the empty log cars passed beneath it and were loaded in sequence by the loading boom in the foreground. These skidders are reputed to haul in from the cutting site and load 12 cars a day and set up the high line to bring in logs from another direction. Have negative.Collection
