Harry Dolar Koher, son of Heinrich and Bertha Koher, pioneers of Randle, WA., at age about 18, before his death at age 20, by a huge salmon in the upper Cowlitz River. Unknown Mountain in background.
Harry had caught a large salmon in the river, and had gaffed it. While he was trying to bring it on land, the salmon pulled him off balance. Harry fell into the river and drowned. His body was found downstream. Later, the salmon was found downstream with Harry's gaffing hook still in it.Collection
