Panoramic photo of the 7th Infantry at the S.W.W. Fairgrounds, August 24, 1924. Shows tents with soldiers. You can see Standard Oil, looking north, 4 storage tanks. Upper left, trees and beyond is RR which is still there. Next is the viaduct, a long wooden trestle which passed over RR which was decommissioned after 1929. This was an electric powered trolley system between the twin cities. The 7th Division was stationed at Vancouver Barracks and would come north every summer on maneuvers up to the start of WWII. Many of the officers rode horses and vehicles were horse drawn too. General Pershing is reported to have been in command at one time.
