Portrait of Gene Evans, a foster child of unknown background. He lived in the late 1930's with the W. D. Lawrence family and the Ben F. Snyder's, both in the North Fork of the Newaukum River. He left the Snyder's to join the United States Navy at the beginning of WWII.
