This folder contains correspondence, notes, and clippings, most or all of them belonging to Lewis Latimer’s granddaughter Winifred Norman, who worked tirelessly to recognize and honor Latimer’s achievements. Noted correspondents include African American collector and historian M. A. “Spike” Harris, and Wesley T. Hammer, son of Lewis Latimer’s colleague and employer Edwin Hammer, who reminisces about Latimer. A typescript of an unpublished Lewis Latimer poem, “Keep in Touch With the World,” is also included in this folder.Context
