Includes miscellaneous letters, including correspondence relating to Latimer’s book on electricity (1890), a letter from his friend the Black activist and diplomat Richard T. Greener, a letter from Latimer’s acquaintance the African American missionary in Haiti, James Theodore Holly, a note from his friend John F. Randolph writing from Thomas Edison’s lab in [West] Orange, New Jersey, and several letters from staff at the Philadelphia magazine Leisure Hours relating to poetry Latimer had submitted for publication. Some letters feature handwritten annotations and official stamps.
