Money Trunk

Name/Title

Money Trunk

Entry/Object ID

1955.2.9

Description

Small wooden trunk with embossed leather covering, the interior lined with newspaper. Metal handle and lock. Past documentation indicates that it was made by Jeshurun/Jesurun (Jesse) Walker (1748-1813), Liberty Hyde Bailey's great-grandfather who came to the U.S. from England at eleven and fought in the American Revolution. However, birth records indicate Jesse Walker's place of birth to be Massachusetts.
