Log Cabin Bed Quilt

Description

Beautiful silk “Log Cabin” bed quilt. Hand embroidery with initials F. R.S. In the center of quilt. Feather stitching embroidered throughout quilt. Pattern has a geometric stripe of black silks with lighter colored log cabin squares. The backing is a silk fabric known as “hatter’s plush.” Used by haberdashers in hat making. There was a hat making business in Wiscasset, ME. Perhaps this is where Eliza purchased this fabric.
