Description

Blue wool Civil War uniform coat. Two metal clasps on each shoulder, likely for epaulettes. Velvet collar. Black cotton lining, except for sleeves which are white striped cotton. Eighteen buttons on the front, nine on each side. Five buttons on each sleeve. Sleeves also have gold stripe design. Four buttons on divided skirt at back. Some of the buttons say "Massachusetts" on them and have the state seal. Other buttons say "Mass Vol. Militia" and have a sword design.
