Bailey Table

Description

Oval top tavern style table, so called "Bailey Table." Painted a deep red. Table has four plain legs with stretchers near the bottom. The table is said to have belonged to Rev. Jacob Bailey of Pownalborough, ME. He gave the table to Ann Catherine Houdlette in 1779 when Rev. Bailey fled to Nova Scotia. Then by descent to Ann Houdlette (Mrs. L.B. Houdlette of Dresden, ME. Eventually, the table was gifted to PCH by Kenneth Woodward of Dresden, Maine.
