Mantel Clock

Description

Mantel clock with a painted wooden dial above an eglomise glass panel contained within the lower half of the front shutter. Clock crowned with a wooden triangular pediment painted with an eagle with outstretched wings above various armaments. Clock supported on two forward carved paw feet and two turned rear feet. Works are wooden but the clock also has heavy lead weights for the clock operation and for its chimes. Case is made up of mahogany sides, whereas the front shutter has mahogany veneer on cherry wood whereas the backing board appears to be a non coniferous wood like aspen or basswood.
