Description

Geometric black diamonds on red square blocks. The blocks are divided by black stripes. The quilt is roughly pieced with no backing and not quilted, just pieced. The quilt was made from an 1812 uniform belonging to Snow Winslow of Nobleboro, ME. Snow was born Jan. 4, 1796 and died Oct. 13, 1854. He was one of 4 sons of John Winslow and was the first to settle on Winslow Hill in Nobleboro, ME. Snow was a fifer in the War of 1812. There is a letter on file in the collection 59.26.1
