Summer quilt of simple 4 patch squares set on point to for stripes alternating with stripes of a roller print calico fabric. Overly hand quilted in long lines of quilting. Backing is plain white muslin. This quilt combines block printed patterns with cylinder printed patterns.

This quilt is likely from the early 1800s according to scholar Laurie Labar. It has examples of cylinder printing, which was invented in the late 1700s and became popular in the early 1800s. This type of printing started to replace the block printing that can also be seen on this quilt.
